Where It All Began: A Dialogue, a Bus Stop, and an Idea
It all started with a moment Nila will never forget.
It was Vishu Day, 2021, and she was standing at a bus stop, waiting to pick up her son. No sadya. No traditional feast. No celebration. And honestly? She was okay with that.
But in her head, something else was happening:
“You’re a Malayali woman.”
“You’re a mother.”
“This is not how Vishu should be.”
No one was watching. No family. No society. Yet, guilt appeared, as if it were a shadow cast by years of expectations and conditioning.
And then, out of nowhere, a voice from Malayalam cinema spoke inside her:
“ആനപ്പാറേലെ ആന പനിനീര് തളിക്കണോസാമ്പാർ വെളമ്പാണോന്ന് ഞാനാ തീരുമാനിക്കണത് !!
I decide what happens in my house.
That voice was bold, unapologetic, and fearless — everything women were often told not to be. And in that moment, Nila called Tina:
“What if we put this dialogue on a T-shirt?”
“What if we reclaim these voices?”
“What if we sell it?”
And just like that, Parishkaaree was born.
